Does time heal all wounds?

Does time heal all wounds?

My answer to this question is only based on what I’ve experienced in my own life…

With a combination of time and Jesus, I believe we can be healed of every wound.

I’ve noticed throughout my walk with God, that time alone cannot heal me. If Jesus is not invited into my hurt then time only increases my pain. For example, a few years ago I went through a very challenging time with an old friend of mine. She said some very hurtful things to me that altered our entire relationship. As the weeks went on my hurt only grew. It seemed that time was making it worse. It wasn’t until I completely surrendered my hurt to Jesus that I was fully healed from the pain of this severed relationship. And when I say fully healed, I mean fully healed “in Christ.”

Let me explain.

We all can agree with the fact that life at times is very challenging. There are experiences we go through that are so painful that healing and forgiveness are only handled through daily choices. But with that in mind, this is what the bible tells us that Jesus accomplished on the cross:

But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

Isaiah 53:5

Through His life, death and resurrection Jesus has made each one of us healed and whole. Although life will always have pain and brokenness, as believers in Christ, we are healed.

So to me, I believe that time and Jesus can heal us of every life experience that wounds us. It takes prayer, patience and trust but is ultimately attainable through the help of our Lord.
