3 Reasons Why There is Every Day Power in Easter Sunday

Easter Sunday!

It came and¬†it went. ūüôā

Easter is always a fun day in my family. There’s egg decorating (yes, even as an adult), candy eating¬†(yes, even as an adult), and¬†a big¬†brunch. And¬†like every holiday, there is a great deal of thought and planning that goes into it.

The event lasts only one day but the significance of what Easter actually means stretches¬†far beyond that. Easter is all about Jesus and His resurrection! But even the magnitude of that miraculous transaction made on the cross gets lost in the shuffle of our busy lives. We think about it as we lead up to¬†the holiday but it fizzles in our minds as¬†the weeks roll forward. Let’s be honest, as women we’re already planning for Mother’s Day and Fourth of July!

So why¬†don’t we acknowledge the power of Easter- the¬†resurrection- more often? I think we should make a pact right now to¬†do just that! ūüėČ What Jesus did for us that Sunday was absolutely incredible.

I’ve gathered a list of 3 benefits that Easter holds for all Christians. Below you can read why the power of this holiday¬†extends¬†way past¬†Sunday! ūüôā

“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from¬†the¬†dead, lives in you. And just as God¬†raised¬†Jesus Christ from¬†the¬†dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” Romans 8:11

Why There is Every Day Power in Easter Sunday

The Resurrection = Christ now lives in us!

1. When Jesus left the earth He gave¬†us the most priceless gift- the¬†Holy Spirit. By committing our life to Christ we now¬†get to “do life” with Him. We get to walk side-by-side with Jesus¬†on this journey because He lives inside our hearts. Because of Easter and the¬†gift of the Holy Spirit, Jesus¬†is now¬†with us every single day.

“That¬†Christ may¬†dwell¬†in your¬†hearts through faith.” Ephesians 3:17

The Resurrection = Christ takes away our mess and replaces it with an abundant life!

2. On the cross, Jesus¬†took every sin¬†and nailed it down for us. Jesus said that even though this life will have struggles and trials we can “take heart” because He has already taken care of it all. Through repentance, He forgives¬†us for all our past mistakes and offers us freedom to enjoy life on earth. The resurrection shows us that our lives were purchased and are purposed. Now that is something to be happy about!

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance- life to the full, until it overflows. John 10:10 ¬†

‚ÄúI have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

¬†The Resurrection = Christ’s blood is always ready to heal!

3. The blood of Jesus can heal our mind, body and soul. This power isn’t just effective¬†on Easter Sunday, we can ask for the blood of Jesus to¬†heal us every day.

But He was pierced for our transgressions,
    He was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on Him,
and by His wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5

The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are not just¬†historical events. They are every day gifts to all believers. ¬†Way after the¬†Cadbury¬†eggs are eaten and stuffed animal bunnies are put back in the¬†attic, Jesus’s power remains.¬†

Believing that Jesus died and rose again is the most important choice we¬†will ever make. Nothing is more important than our¬†salvation. Jesus died on the cross to take away all of our¬†sin and to wash us¬†clean through His blood. He rose from the dead three days later to prove that He really is the living God.¬†He longs for us to make Him our personal Lord and Savior. He wants to do this not only to give us a home in heaven after we pass away from this earth, but also to empower us with His strength to live¬†a a wonderful life while we’re here.

If you have never made Jesus Christ your personal Lord and Savior and would like to know more about this, please reach out to me! God’s love is waiting for you.

//Lord, thank you for your death and resurrection. We love you and thank you for all you’ve done for us.
