Thankful for the Word
As you can tell, from the title of this blog, I absolutely love the Word of God. My bible is my most prized possession and holds the most value out of anything I own. I love it because it infuses me with life. It love it because it keeps me grounded. As a person who can be quickly swayed by her emotions, it helps me think straight. 🙂 The Word motivates me to conquer fears, reach for higher goals, and pursue my dreams. I am so thankful to own a bible, let alone have the privilege to study it and write about it. Living in a country where I have the freedom to do that is a beautiful thing.
Some of you reading this might be more new to your faith. Others are much more seasoned than me. Wherever you are on this journey, I want to encourage you to read the Word. Incorporate scripture into your everyday life. Do something simple- like write your favorite verse on a post it note and tape it on your bathroom mirror! Or wake up in the morning and read the Psalm that correlates with the day of the week. For instance, today is July 8th, so you could read Psalm 8! I promise you that God will speak to you through His Word. The more you read it the more you will feel His presence.
So as our “Month of Praise” continues, today let’s thank God for His Word.
// Lord, thank you for Your Word. Thank you that it tastes as sweet as honey when we read it. (Psalm 19:10) Thank you for allowing us to live in a place where we can freely worship you and praise you for this good book. It really is the book of life!
